Dogfish Head Chicory Stout
The aroma is coffee and chicory-forward.
Pours a decent dark chocolate colour with a minimal coffee-coloured frothy head that disappears fairly quickly. The aroma is coffee and chicory-forward – it’s quite distinct – with roasted dark malts and some coffee grounds rounding out the background. Flavours are also coffee and chicory focused, overwhelming the licorice or other ingredients suggested by the notes above. Roasted oak and other earthy tones are present in the finish, which is nicely dry and lingers for an impressive length of time.
